Ghosts versus Shadow People

Is there a difference between ghosts and shadow people? I think in most cases there is; in 1 there isn't.

First off - ghosts come in a variety of 'flavors'.

1. Residual hauntings - occur when an emotional scene of event is embedded in the surroundings. The ghosts seen in a residual haunting do not interact with the living; they just repeat some action from their existence...over and over again. They are oblivious to the living.

2. Intelligent hauntings - occur when the ghost interacts with the living. The ghosts want to communicate and will make noise and lower room temperature to manifest itself.

3. Demonic hauntings - are self-explanatory.

Of these 3 types of ghost hauntings, I believe the intelligent hauntings most resemble the instances of shadow people - but this video begs that belief.

Just what are shadow people? Are they demons? Lost souls in limbo? Or aliens that watch our lives and scare us in the dark?

Dogs See Ghosts, Right?

I currently live in a house with a housemate that has a bulldog. The house isn't that old - perhaps 20 years or so and is located in Washington State. Sometimes when my housemate and I are sitting in the family room we hear noises - such as creaking floors, bumps and creeks - coming from the kitchen. Usually, right before then, the bulldog will begin to growl and bark at - nothing. Dogs see ghosts, right? Am I the only one who has noticed how sometimes a dog will track and follow something in a room (other than its butt) - yet we are unable to see whatever it is?

My housemate and I have investigated what might be the cause of the noises and why they only seem to happen at around the same time each night. We have a free-standing refrigerator in the kitchen so we investigated to see if perhaps the creeks were occurring when the frig turned on, but no - that wasn't it. We also checked the dining room to see if perhaps there was something in the dining room that would create the noises. No, that wasn't it, either.

One night, we heard a very distinct sound - someone stepping on a certain spot in the kitchen. We know because the floor creeks in that spot when you walk on it. Just for a minute, I know I turned around to speak to whomever it was...just for a moment forgetting that only my housemate and I were in the house. The dog went nuts! He went around the kitchen table, continuing to look at that spot in the kitchen and growling and barking. We don't experience this phenomena in any other part of the house and again, it only seems to occur at certain times of the night. So, I ask you - dogs must see ghosts, right?

Ghosts - Could They Stand Alongside Your Bed at Night?

Over 70% of the general population believes that ghosts are real and have some spooky story to tell. My own tale begins when I was 9 years old and my mother and father had driven down 'south' to Mississippi to try to locate my maternal grandmother's grave. We were in a graveyard in the Mississippi Delta that was several hundred years old, with weeds grown up all around - most of the weeds covering the lower-lined tombstones completely.

I remember the sounds of crickets and the buzzing of mosquitoes as we inched our way from section to section in search of one specific tombstone, 'Beloved Melinda'. We searched through that cemetery until night fall, never having found the gravesite. As we were leaving, my mother said, aloud 'Momma, I tried to see you today. I'm sorry we couldn't find you.' The following morning, we headed back to the mid-west.

Two nights after we returned to our home, I was on my way back from the restroom when I heard my mother talking to someone from her bedroom. I went down the hall and standing next to my mother's bed was a woman dressed in 1950's style clothes. She held her hat in her hand, as if she'd been traveling. I thought my mother had a friend with an emergency (to come calling that late at night), and went back to bed.

The next morning, I expected to see Mom's guest on the coach or in the kitchen, but no one was there. I then asked my mother if her friend was okay and she looked at me with tears in her eyes and told me that the 'friend' had been her mother! She said she'd come to speak with her and to apologize for leaving her when she was a little girl. The woman I saw was as solid as you and I. She hadn't shimmied, didn't look like a hologram - but looked to me like she was
there.

What do you think? Please, let me know.

Proof of Ghosts?
By Thomas Shea

We all know of at least one person who claims to have had an experience with ghosts or the paranormal. Most people toss these experiences up to the overactive imagination. However, it seems that people have been having these experiences for centuries and without explanation.

With modern day technology, present day ghost hunters have managed to capture some amazing things on film and audio. Pictures, video and audio recordings known as EVP have surfaced at an alarming rate. Granted, the same technology that allows for the capture of this evidence, also allows for modern day hoaxsters to create their own. This is an unfortunate situation, because it tends to discredit the entire field and lessen the value of real evidence. People have an automatic reaction of disbelief when given the chance of witnessing some of this evidence. Fortunately, these occurrences could care less whether someone believes or not and continue to happen, giving us the chance to capture even more startling evidence.

The purpose of this article is not to argue the validity of the current proof of ghosts or evidence that already exists. Rather, it is to discuss undeniable science and see how it could apply to ghosts and the paranormal. The main thing that I would like to discuss is thermodynamics.

The laws of thermodynamics are considered to be some of the most important laws in physics and are as accepted as the laws of gravity. When looking at these laws, we can start to see that maybe science has already provided proof that ghosts could in fact, exist.

The first law of thermodynamics states: "Energy can neither be created or destroyed. it can only change form." This basically says that energy does not die, it simply changes form. it also says that there is a constant amount of energy within our universe at all times. Think about it. If energy has been proven by science to be indestructible, but have the ability to change form, then what happens to the massive amount of energy that makes us who we are, when our bodies cease to function? This is something very interesting to think about.

Could this basic law of physics explain the existence of ghosts? Could it explain the voices recorded on a regular basis that were inaudible at the time of recording? The misty apparitions or mysterious movement of objects? The human soul? I am not a physicist by any means, but by looking at this very important law, using a common sense approach, it seems as though these occurrences should be taken more seriously that they often are. Granted, people will say that our body becomes fertilizer and food for bugs and that is how our energy changes form, but take a look at yourself. Think of the amazing power of the human brain and body. Is this really a fair trade? Personally, it makes me want to take a second look at the current proof and evidence of ghosts. I hope that you have read this article with an open mind and will continue to question the unknown. Curiosity is the mother of all scientific fact. Whether we are right or wrong today, our curiosity will one day become undeniable scientific fact.
